HP Backs Down On TouchPad

HP TouchPad owners, heed my call, you can rejoice now, money has not been wasted.

HP has announced that they will reduce the price of the 16gb iteration of the device to 99$ as a wipeout of the device. HP will also be refunding 100% of funds spent on the less than incredible, TouchPad for all those wishing to return their device. And for those who wish to keep heirs, you will receive the difference returned to you aswell, however we are not sure if the brick and mortar retailers will follow suit as it will present a significant loss.

Sadly this means that no more apps will develop for the TouchPad, no more bug fixes, no more updates, and yes, even suport will likely be abandoned with webOS.

Some may say that it should have been on the market longer, but I thing it’s had its tries. So next up I hope is an Android tab with similar specs! But till then, I think I may go get a 99$ 16 gb dual core tablet.

Come on RIM, think!

It’s starting to look like RIM is taking a dive, incomplete devices, broken promises of features yet to come, and now this!

What you’ll see at the link is RIM’s Torch 2 Fan Reviews. Only problem is, they feature phones in the video, which AREN’T the Torch 2! Watch at 0:15 in the video and you’ll see, quite specifically, an Android device! What’s up with that RIM? Why exactly are you advertising other phones now, it seems a bit counter productive don’t you think?

Research In Motion, When are you going to clean up your act? You were doing so well! The Curve, the Pearl, even the Bold and the Storm were all beautiful! what happened? You too a step back in hardware, and your software innovation is non-existent!  What happened to you?

I’ve said it once I’ll say it again… sell your stock while you can… RIM’s down and out.

Droid Viruses, Proceed, But With Caution

Many of you may not realize that, after computers, the largest market for viruses and malware is actually cellphones. The largest market for cellphone viruses (just like computers) is whichever is most popular! As you should know from this post here, the most popular mobile platform is android. meaning that like windows, it’s vulnerable to attack at any turn. I’m not saying don’t buy Android. Rather the exact opposite! If you like Android, buy Android, just watch for things such as this;

This is a Trojan Horse. The virus works on the same premise. A curse dressed up as a blessing.

“The fine folks at CA Technologies came across an interesting new trojan that does something slightly more unnerving than max out your credit cards — it records your conversations. “
The way I see it, these things have been around a while, seems a little daunting, but there ARE simple, fast solutions on the market, and even in your eyes. You can get anti-viral scanners for your android phone which scan EVERY file launched on your phone! However one of your best defences, READ THE PERMISSIONS! Always read the permissions before installing any new software, not doing so puts your device, your information, and now your conversation at risk!

Market Shares And Nike+ Contenders

Hey everyone!

I appear to have fallen asleep before finishing my post for last night. so here it is, late but present!

It's all here, clear and concise.

A study was released today indicating that ANDROID, not iOS, is officially the market leader! Only took 3 years. Android is sitting at a nice cushy 39% market share! While Apple slides down to 2nd place with 28% of the market still wrapped around its little finger! RIM’s sliding stocks don’t prevent a cool 3rd place with 20% share of the market! Congratulations Android, on taking the world by storm!

Honestly, I can’t even say I’m surprised, Apple has 4 devices, while the number of Android devices is likely in the hundreds, more variety, more sales. Apple I’m talking to you!

Tell me why in the comment section down below!

Fox Hands out digital Flix to Android Users

Got Android? Get this!

Hey guys, sadly, today’s gonna be a short post. I’ll do my best to get back up to my normal two stories tomorrow, but there weren’t many great stories to pick from,  but I have one here I think you might like.

Looks like 20th Century Fox will be allowing downloads with the purchase of blu-ray discs. The Blu ray  will contain a card linking you to a website where the buyer can sideload a copy of the film to any Android Powered device!

Hopefully this means that companies  are beginning to realize that the digital market is a helping hand, and not a hindrance…
